Meet our Does!
Margo
Margo is our herd Queen and keeps everyone in check in and out of the barn. She’s quite smart and is our only goat that can open gate latches. Carabiners as locks are a necessity when this girl’s around! Although Margo is one of our most intelligent goats, she’s known to get her head stuck in the fence on a regular basis. We sometimes threaten to turn her into freezer meat, but this Queen keeps us on our toes and all of the goats on the tips of their hooves.
Mini Moo
She lives up to her name. Mini Moo is a pretty compact and robust fainter. But don’t let her short, chunky little legs fool you - she can book it across a pasture at the smell of an animal cracker! She’s our herd’s fertile myrtle and we swear she can get pregnant through the air. Her kids are the best and come in triplet size, with at least one having her sweet personality.
Mildred (“Millie Girl”)
Millie is a goat breeder’s dream as she has all of the ideal traits - she’s a girl, has blue eyes, is multi-colored and is poled (naturally born without horns). She has quite the genetics. Millie is one of the sweetest girls on our homestead, but don’t be mistaken - with all of that muscle, she can be quite the powerhouse and is our goat body builder. She will plow you over for the taste of an animal cracker.
Clariece
Clariece is the first born daughter of Margo and Archie and is a twin (her brother is Abe). She was born on Christmas evening and earned her name from the little girl reindeer in the movie Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. Although Clariece is pretty and has great genetics, she is quite the dud in her personality. She’s pretty bland! She and Margo are the bestest of friends and will team up to terrorize the herd whenever they feel like doing so.
Edith
Sweet Edith! She came to our farm when we purchased Eleanor. We had no intention of getting two goats; however, Edith was the runt, born from a set of triplets, and poled. At her breeder’s farm, she was very much like our Cosmo - struggling a little bit, had some delays, and was just plain tiny. We got her at a discount! Although Edith will never be intentionally bred, she will have a place on our homestead and in our hearts forever. That sweet face can turn into one of a tyrant super quickly if a baby goat invades her space - watch out!
Eleanor
A true chipmunk look-a-like! When she wants to be, Eleanor is sweet, cuddly and super curious. Most days though, she’s scared of anything abrupt, faints easily, and is best buds with Edith as a bonded pair. We’re excited for when it’s time for Eleanor to become a mom and can’t wait to see how she adds to our fainting goat breeding program.
Beatrice
The little Nigerian Dwarf that stole our hearts at first sight! Beatrice was added to our herd as our first NG; however, when going to pick up Beatrice, we also fell in love with Julia, her bestie. She’s small, sweet, skeptical, and an absolute cuddle bug once she lets you hold her. She loves Julia and will lose her mind if she’s separated from her, she’s quite co-dependent!
Julia
Julia is a Nigerian Dwarf, but looks like an African antelope - she moves like one too! She’s quick, spunky, sassy, and will not back down from any goat that tries to headbutt her. She’s tiny, but mighty. She’s super bonded with Beatrice, but will hang out with any goat in our herd. We can’t wait to see how she grows as she becomes an adult and how big those little spike horns get.
Ziggy
This little girl zig zags everywhere! Under fences, between gates, under other goat’s legs, and all over the barnyard. She’s a pygmy baby that came to us by taking in a small pygmy herd of five, our “fabulous five.” She’s fluffy, has a super loud goat voice and serves as one of the herd’s “look-outs.” You’re not sneaking up on this girl.
Laramie (“Velociraptor”)
The leader of the “fabulous five” pygmy herd, Laramie is everywhere, all of the time. She keeps an eye on everything and is always watching. She’s fierce, not a fan of cats, and loves to find ways to get into the duck food. The way she moves, peaks around corners, and darts across the barnyard makes us feel that she was a dinosaur in a past life.
Reece (“Skippy”)
Skippy is the daughter of Laramie and is the most photogenic Little Hooves animal that we have. Her favorite hang out partners are Beatrice, Julia, Victor and Gary - whom she LOVES to head-butt; however, her absolute bestie is her mom. She’s cute from afar; however, is still very much feral and not a fan of being cuddled - she doesn’t have time for it!
Roseanne (“Roseanna Danna”)
With a personality like Roseanne (for those of you old enough to remember that show), Roseanna Danna brings a nice blend of crazy and maturity to the barnyard. A pygmy at heart, she likes to hang with the bigger goats and challenge them to many bouts of head-butting, even with Big Head Glenn! Her favorite activity is sitting on top of her wooden spool under the umbrella watching every goat below her in the barnyard for the peasants that they are to her!
“Winnie”
Mille had her baby in early October (2024) and she just couldn’t be cuter. There is no denying that this child’s father is Winston. From that teddy bear face to her absolutely cuddly, snuggly, and gentle personality, she’s the perfect blend (genetically and personality) of her mother and father. She is available during our Cuddle Corner events and loves the attention from all of her new human friends!
